Nissan Micra NISMO is heading to the Indian market soon

The Nissan Micra NISMO is likely heading to the Indian market soon as Nissan is attempting to become a prominent player in the Indian car market.

The Micra NISMO is already being ordered by the Japanese (in great numbers) after it was shown off in September 2013. The cosmetic changes that you'll find include side skirts, outer rear view mirrors, NISMO badge on the grille and sharply designed bumper loaded with daytime running lights and large air scoops. At the rear end of the vehicle you'll find a performance exhaust system and a black rocker sill. The interior has bucket seat with nice upholstery, a red dial tachometer and padded steering wheel.

There are also some changes that aren't cosmetic. The suspension system will get upgraded. Tires are also replaced with 16" tires with alloy wheels.

The Nissan Micra NISMO comes in two different trim levels: Base and S. The Base level gets all the exterior upgrades and comes with a 1.2-liter engine and CVT transmission. The S trim level, which stands for Sport, gets an upgraded 1.5-liter petrol engine. It will get you 114 hp through ECU re-mapping.

It is unclear exactly what an Indian version of the Nissan Micra NISMO would entail. Some of the more expensive features and upgrades may be struck because ultimately price is the most important factor in the Indian market.

While there is no set release date as of right now, you can expect one soon.

more power than a turbo kit and a whole rotating assembly upgrade. People shouldn't underestimate the power of the stripe.

NISMO should be ashamed to put their name on a vehicle with a CVT transmission. Whisky Tango Foxtrot, CVT goes against every principle NISMO was built on

Fast and Furious: Bangalore Nights.

I know right.
A vehicle like this NEEDS DCT. Put that in and include an optional manual and people will love it even if it has an underpowered engine.

It seems like the focus for the Indian market really isn't performance. The thing that matters most is price point. Nissan will only upgrade the the Micra NISMO so much because any more than that will make it unaffordable to the types of people in India that they are trying to sell the Micra to.

ok so if the Indian market isn't about performance whats the point in Nissans performance division selling a vehicle in India?

good point.
India clearly wants faster cars but they obviously can't afford the same performance cars nations like the U.S.A. has on a mass scale. Instead these lower end performance cars are needed.
